The controversy of whether Facebook will continue to be around for the foreseeable future, has been solved and all but announced publicly. According to a April 2015 CNBC news release titled, “Facebook user growth crushes estimates”, Facebook receives 936 million users a day.
So why is this important for RV Resorts and other small businesses? Firstly, Facebook is a free platform that has a ton of users. These users are making purchasing decisions based upon the content brands are providing. With a solid strategy, you could essentially, acquire new business at little if no cost.
This does become even more important if you want people to visit your website. Facebook does refer business to websites and if there are opportunities to purchase products or you desire to bring more awareness to your brand, advertising on Facebook can bring the same type of traffic, if not more so than Google Adwords after you build a following.
If you decide to market your business on Facebook, you need to remember some key items:
1) Post Regularly: Remember, people need to see an advertisement at least 7 times before it resonates. Inactive pages will not do your business justice.
2) Use Pictures: Pictures have a sticky factor and text almost always gets lost in the shuffle.
3) Make sure that the content you post on Facebook matches what it links to within your website. For example, don’t post a picture of donuts if the image links to a page about apples on your website.
4) Have a strategy; posting for the sake of posting isn’t advisable. If you want to draw an action, phrase a call to action for each post.
